Substation Refurbishment Project

 

A Planner/Training Manager employed by Carillion to work on the HV Substation Refurbishment  NEC3 Framework project in East Anglia. Responsible for up to ten projects, providing programme and cost management support to a number of UK Power Networks Project Managers. The projects ranged from 132kV Switch House Transformer Replacements (£5M) to 33kV Switch House/Transformer Replacements (£3M) to Circuit Breaker Installations (£75k) to Battery Charger Installations (£50k)

 

Responsibilities included:-

 

Producing p6 Programmes for each project.

 

Issued weekly updates on project progress to the project team and the client.

 

Leading commercial and programme reviews of each project.

 

A key part of the Project team submitting and managing Compensation Events and implementing recovery plans on a project

 

Earned Value analysis and production of CPI, SPI, and End Project Life figures. Part of the action plan team to address project issues.

 

Implemented a process for the forecasting and monitoring the Project’s financial lifecycle.

 

Created a cash forecast spreadsheet to track actual and forecast costs and compare the projected End Life Project Position with the Baseline Target Price cost

 

Compiled the data and managing the End of Life project reviews. Chaired the meetings and produced and circulated minutes to those present and the Senior Management Team.

 

Managed the mandatory training and UK Power Networks competencies for the project team

 

NICEIC qualified supervisor for the project.

 

Safety Action Group (SAG) Chairman for the project.
