Variance

The difference between planned and actual performance of an activity or a sequence of activities. Usually relating to differences between Planned Progress, Planned Start or Planned Finish and Actual Progress, Actual Start or Actual Finish but can also be applied to other project or programme parameters such as costs or budgets.
