Project Planner 

Tunnel and Pipeline 

Itare Dam. Molo, Kenya.

The Project involved: 
  1. Asphalt Concrete Core Rockfill Dam – 57m high, with 63m high concrete Intake tower,
  2. 400m long concrete Diversion Culvert, 400m Crest and 550 long concrete Spillway and designed max output capacity of 153,972 mc/day.
  3. Raw Water Mains (DN 1300, 1.3KM)
  4. Water Treatment Plant (100,000mc/day conventional plant with flocculators, sedimentation basins, rapid gravity sand filters)
  5. Treated Bulk Transfer water pipelines (DN 1200 to 800, 103 KM)
  6. Bulk Transfer Tunnel (3m dia and 12.66Km long by EPB TBM).
  7. Bulk Reservoir storage Tanks, Cumulative design storage 30,000 mc and
  8. Bulk Distribution Pipelines (DN 800-250, 35KM). Ancillaries:
  9. EPB TBM Tunnel Boring for the Tunnel
  10. Tunnel Railway line (14KM)
  11. Precast Segment Carousel factory
  12. Roads and Bridges, 37 KM
  13. Asphalt plant
  14. Quarry, Crushing plant
Responsibilities; 
  1. Preparing and Managing Master schedules and the Program of Works.
  2. Work Scoping and Quantifying to generate logical sequences for the Construction and
  3. Engineering work programmes.
  4. Track, monitor and forecast progress of all activities and deliverables.
  5. Perform probabilistic analysis of completion dates and potential alternatives.
  6. Work breakdown with Management to develop Production structures. Monitor and evaluate allocation of resources and provide recommendations to maintain required progress.
  7. Contractual matter monitor for analyzing delays, time losses and additional works and to work out EOT claims. Time Impact Analysis and Report for EOT claims.
  8. Prepare Recovery plans and analysis for possible rate, cost and variations.
