Workstream Planner, London Underground, London Underground Various

START Date:
June, 2010
END Date:
June, 2012

My responsibilities in this role include developing and applying a standardised and consistent approach to long term strategic planning across the Asset Performance directorate and ensuring adherence to programme governance and change control regulations.  These activities are carried out whilst ensuring they support and are aligned to the larger-scale business plan and Annual Asset Management Programme.  Consideration is given to a wide variety of factors with particular focus on risk management, engineering issues, finance, SQE and potential HR/ER issues.  Monitoring of the process is carried out by the collection, collation & interrogation of large quantities of data which is used to compile detailed reports for senior business managers & directors.  This involves the use of MS Office and Primavera planning software.

Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Ensuring 100% completion of PAMs
  • Supporting the delivery of circa £882M savings over 8 years across various Asset Performance Efficiencies
  • Making day to day decisions around planning process, in line with existing framework
  • Challenging current methodology and continuously seeking to improve the process and actively seeking to minimise waste, using ‘lean tools’ and other methods  (e.g. I have recently implemented an automated reporting system to improve efficiency of reporting process; helped develop a lean production line in REW to achieve a demanding target rate; currently using lean methods to minimise delays in assets being handed over to maintenance through the introduction of a standardised O&M manual template)
  • Resolving issues by offering advice & support at a local level, escalating issues as appropriate
