Try the option apply actuals and update progress. You have to have rights to actuals also check your rights also

I think I'm having the same problem.  I move the data date, run "update progress" and the activies highlighted move out in time to the new DD.  It doesn't do this on all projects but just one right now.

 

ANY advise on what to configure to get this working correctly again will be GREATLY appreciated.
