Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear All

i tried to add the WBS name  starting of each  activity which falls in that WBS.

i used the global change

where

blank....

then

activty name  =  activty name  & wbs name

by this i got the result such as

earlier- issue permit

after global change-UNIT21issue permit

now my problem is i want to have - or space between theese two like UNIT21- issue permit or UNIT21  issue permit

Please guide me

thanks in advance

Andy,

The combining of parameters in the global change function works very well.  Exporting to Excel is cheating :)

Cheers

Dear All

I got it finally..

the global change criteria is .

where

blank....

then

activty name  =  activty name  & wbs name

then again run one more global change like this

where

blank....

then

activty name  =  any user text(@,& etc)  & wbs name

now apply changes.after that go yhe replace option and replace the character with space.this complets the task

so there is no need to export and import also

hope this helps

Hi Kumar

I'm not aware of a way of adding an extra parameter/value and operator to the global change, but another approach that might work is to export the project to Excel, under export type choose Activities.  Open the spreadsheet, concatenate the WBS and Activity names together ina seperate column and then paste the resulting values in to the activity name column save and import back in to Primavera?

Regards
