Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

The contractor exports (using P3e v.5) EPS level Activity Codes as Globals; We import, using P6.2.1, as .XER (code values to be updated) and although the Activity Code is in the dictionary and the assigned values are present (against each activity) the Code cannot be seen in the Group/Sort function. If the code is re-named, it appears. Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply Mike. You're right, but in this instance all codes are Global, there are no EPS or Project codes. I've also checked the Import Configuration, which is set to 'update existing' Activity Codes. A poster on the Primavera forum suggested this is a known bug in P6. Have any other P6 users experienced this?

Peter,

I've seen this before, but only when an activity code (whether it is project, EPS or global) has been duplicated. If you have the same code defined at one of the other levels then this will cause that; the key is when you said that you renamed it then it appeared.
