Hi Sampath,



If you are familiar with this, "PATTLNK_632006_536-xerFileParser&Builder.xls" then you can easily convert your Activity Codes into WBS.

I have done this a dozen or so times and the best way I found is to print out an activity code summary and recreate the old coding in the WBS. Cut and paste the activities into the correct buckets and your done.



I have yet to find a way to do it automatically.

you can ask to your contractor to change WBS in P3 show all activity under WBS bands.



after that if you will convert your P3 sch. in P6 or P5 it will not crate any problem.



I always confirm during kickoff meeting to my contarctor if they are using P3



all activity should be under WBS Bands plz do not assign activity code to acivity later on it will be create problem while convert P3 in to P6 or P5

You are perfect...

My situation is Different.. I am working as a project manager. My Consultant and contractors are using P3 and I feel like using P6. So only I want to convert the P3 files into P6. Because when I use pert master the appearence is not looking good...

sorry to say this but, are you lazy working in wbs?



p6 wbs is now a flexible one to work with.



activity code is like an assistant to filters in p6 nowadays.
