Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

create a resource and if you are assign it as 8 hours per day it will automatically multiply 8 times your duration so

5 days = 8*5 = 40 hours this is the default basically 1 man per task

export the resource and units (manhours) to excel and make your modifications there and then import back into p6.

Hi Eric

The setting is in - User Preferences - Dates -  Units/Time format  - Change to (show as a percentage (50%)).

Then in the Activities screen when you go to the resources tab of the Details window, add the column "Remaining Units/Time".  This column will be shown as a % of the resource calendar assigned to the resource you add to the activity.

If you leave the Units/Time Format as "Show as units/duration (4h/d)", the Remaining Units/Time column will be represented as hours of the assigned resource calendar.  Just be aware when you have the setting in this configuration, the "Durations Format" of the "User Preferences - Time Units" tab will affect how the "Remaining Units/Time" is represented.  For example if you set the "Durations Format" to hour, the "Remaining Units/Time" will say 1/h wich is equivalent to 8h/d or 100% if the resource calendar is your standard 8 hour per day calendar.

If you set the "Durations Format" to "Day" the "Remaining Units/Time" will say 8/d wich is equivalent to 1/h or 100% if the resource calendar is your standard 8 hour per day calendar.

Hope this helps
