Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

open  the excel file dictionary6s.xls

type in the password

select update project list

then select your project

then select GET Activity Codes

now copy these codes

now open the wbs.xls file

and type in the password

select update project list

then select your project

then select GET WBS

now copy the codes from the other spreadsheet into the wbs spredshsheet

now in the wbs spreadsheet select SET WBS

done

you install sdk then you use the excel spreadsheet. Then sdk bridges the gap or is the interface between the spreadsheet and P6.

So in the spreadsheet you can select your project and you have the get button and the set button

the get button is like export in p6 and the set button is like the import function in p6

so you use the get button to export your info from p6 change it or populate it then you select set to import it back into p6

you can do this for several different categories.

sdk stands for software development kit this come with p6. Almost every program as a sdk that they make available to developers of other software in this case sdk will be used inconjunction with excel.
