Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello PPers,

Does anyone think that the data shown here is of a private nature and should not be more openly shown? - Member Network

At Planning Planet we think that this is a useful tool so that we can begin to see who knows who etc. The format of the script is being improved, but nonetheless shows the concept involved.

This is similar to a planners activity network - i.e. us planners are the activity nodes and our PP ’contacts’ are the logical relationships that exist between the nodes.

Please be aware that no-one can see, or obtain our email addresses. Any communication is done via the PP Private Message function.

Regards...

PP Admin,

I’m not sure about this; there is a real possibility that you may fall foul of Data Protection legislation in Britain and possibly other European countries as well. If you are happy with the legal aspects, there is still the possibility that with the private message facility you have included, members with a great deal of experience could be swamped with requests for help.

While, I’ve no doubt, the vast majority of them would be willing to help, there is the risk that, for some individuals, this could become a real encroachment upon their working time.

if you have the legal aspects covered, perhaps the best idea would be to trial it and see what happens, and if some people find that it is becoming a nuisance terminate it.
