Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

It is repeatedly requested to Admin. of Planning Planet to allow a member for e-mail numbers of his nominated contacts given in member area but PP strictly prohibited e-mails of its members .

If e-mail of nominated contacts are not admissible under the policy of Planning Planet so please develop and start Private Message (PM) option for ease of interchanging their views and discussions.

Aforementioned one option should be adopted ASAP to facilitate his members but I think Private Message (PM) is the best option in this context.

Hello PPers,

We have added a small Email icon next to each members name. This will allow all of us to send a private email to that member.

By sending the message in this manner we ensure that our email addresses remain private until we wish to send a reply back to the sender, and thus show our email address.

Hope it improves things.

Moving to a commercial forum software would certainly relieve James & the PP team from a lot of headaches. Unfortunately, it might also mean that every post to date would be lost if they cannot be imported into the new system.

As far as commercial forum software is concerned, I like the vBulletin. I’ve heard that there are some security issues that are yet to be resolved with 3.01 (their latest release). I would suggest looking at version 2.3.4 if the inclination is to move in this direction.

We are working on this issue as we pass on about 30 emails every week to PPers who are asking to be put in touch with other PPers.

Does anyone have any ideas or examples that can supplement our current development ideas?
