Running Critical Path on P6

Please can anyone give me a step by step on how to run the criticalpath on my project in p6.

Thanks

Critical Path :

In the Gantt Diagram you can select to show bars "critical remaining work" in red.

For none critical activities, you can show total float or total float + free float.

A logical field "Critical" is also computed by P6. You can set a filter on it and show only the critical path.

If you are using a filter on low Total Float (< 5 days for example), you also will see "near critical path".

This gives many critical paths, not only the longest.

The use of dates constraints introduces the possibility to have many critical pathes in a logical network.

Longest Path

Have you tried Longest Path Approximator?  http://scheduling.spacetechnology.net  It is capable of moving the data date back to the beginning of the month, and then you can see the critical path.  Hint:  Ask for  a free sample!

go to filter and then add longest path = yes

the crictical path will appear based uppon the longest path duration.
