Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Export from P6 TO P5

Hi Mallesha,

Follow the following steps:

1. Open the project you wanted to export.
2. Go to File Menu --> Export
3. In Export Format, Select Primavera Contractor 5.0 - (XER) then NEXT
4. Export Type --> Project then NEXT
5. Project to Export --> NEXT
6. In File Name, select the location where to SAVE your .xer file
7. Select Finish when done.

Other way around is by opening using Notepad.

Follow all the Steps above except step #3 instead select Primavera PM/MM - (XER)

After finishing the export. Go to the .xer file, select & right click & open with NOTEPAD. Change 6.0.0 to 5.0.0 and then SAVE.
