Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear all,

I’m searching for a good Tutorial book for P6,

I have already "Planning and Scheduling using Primavera" book by "Paul E. Harris" but it’s not covering many topics specialy the Resource leveling and Budgets! which are most important for me now.

I’ll be glad if someone can send a softcopy of a good tutorial book for P6, or even recommend me a one to get.

i need to reduce the float bars, because when I show the free float bar, it appears always, until the free float is zero.

Do someone have an idea for this?

Hi Alexandre

You are quite coreect that the license to use Primavera goes with the software purchase and cannot be transferred.

Primavera however does not help themselves because you can borrow a disc that has been copied any number of times and provided you have the key you can just install it and use it under a different name.

No need to buy this off ebay - just find a freind.

(Not that I have ever done this of course)

True you can't get the support but from what I have heard that is not worth much any way.

Serious software such as PowerProject has strict licensing rules using complex key transfers - but it works well.

Another scam is MS Project where you can buy the software on ebay at the fraction of the price provided you can demonstrate that you are an edjucation establishment - this is proven by ticking the YES box. Ho Hum.

I am new to Primavera, would appreciate it if someone tell me, if buying Primavera P6 PPM software from Ebay is a good idea ?

I have to pay around £1,600 to buy it from Oracle

Please advise on what is the best way in order to buy the software

To all concern:

For those who have received copies of the manual and any other learning material from the resource member in this PP community, kindly share it as well with the others or to those in need without reservation or at first call. You know, we all are busy with our daily work duties and a few cannot do it all extending hand to most of the guys in this PP community.

Personally, I feel so glad that there is this Planning Planet website as I am also learning a lot of ideas by going through the foregoing discussions, participating and contributing in any way I can to the best of my knowledge.
