 PROJECT DESCRIPTION (ARNOT CAPACITY INCREASE PROJECT)

Arnot capacity increase project (ACIP), Mpumalanga, South Africa.

Project description The project involves the extensive refurbishment of the Arnot power station in order to meet the increasing demand for power in South Africa.

Arnot has six 350-MW units, making up a total installed capacity of 2 100 MW. The aim is to increase the capacity of each unit to 400 MW, while at the same time extending the station’s lifetime. Value R1,48-billion.
