Contract value approximately £4 billion.
The Program is located on the Jumeirah Beach coastline approximately 20km southwest of the centre of Dubai and comprises of a shore-connected island shaped in the style of a palm tree. It is an investment comprising of an accommodation and leisure resort on approximately 600 hectares, (6,000,000 m2) of reclaimed land with, 38 internationally branded hotels, 1,850 luxury villas & townhouses, 9,868 luxury apartments, a shopping, restaurant and entertainment complex catering for up to 70,000 persons, 3 marinas, a 3.5km canal, and a Palm Tower. The development is protected by a crescent-shaped barrier island approximately 11kms in length, with the reclaimed area extending approximately 5kms seaward and having an overall width of 5kms.
The Program Master Schedule (PMS) and Contractors Schedules are critical path method schedules, using P3 / P3ec / P6 planning software, to identify and integrate all interface milestones and logic, contractual baselines targets and current forecasts. Activities are coded to ensure information can be organised, sorted and filtered for report production. The schedules are fully logic linked to determine float criticality at activity level throughout the project lifecycle. The schedules are cost loaded as a basis for activity progress weightings for the EVMS.
