Consumable/Permanent resource allocation ASTA PowerProject

I am trying to allocate the use of 800 ton of 6N material to several tasks to allow me to assess the total daily demand.

Consumable resources cannot be levelled is there a way around this by perhaps using permanent resources?

I am struggling to ensure that the allocation is correct ie. 800t per day on each task to which the resource is assigned.

Any help will be much appreciated!

Hello,

I was hoping someone can help. I have had to add a substantial number activities to my programme due to client variations and I have now linked all of the activities. The trouble is my programme now looks like a spiders web due to the large number of diagonal links. Is there a way to format the appearance of links so they are drawn in a horizontal and vertical fashion? Any help or advice would be gladly received.

Line of Balance

Hi all I am seeing more and more people wanting a line of balance set up as a spreadsheet, with each plot (housing project) down the left side and each activity along the top with the duration of each task identified, and then in each meeting cell a date of when the activity is to start. If the activity starts on time it goes green and if it starts late it goes red. Is there anyway of running a report from Asta to avoid having to manually transfer the info to excel? Hi all Can anyone please help me out and give me some guidance. I would like to set up a task pool that could be linked to the main programme I.e. If I was to alter the the task pool durations or operation it would automatically alter the main programme. For example paste linking as if you would in excel. Many thanks in advance for your help

Hi,

I have the following question, on which I couldn’t find and answer in google.

How to make a task with flexible duration, which will fill the gap between other 2 tasks and will automatically adjust it’s length:
Example 

Task1: Deliver building material (fix start task)
Task2: Guard delivered building material (fixed units)
Task3: Build building (fix start)

Hi All, 

An odd question; is anyone aware of a way to import a PDF* back into ASTA? I have inherited a few historic programmes and it would be nice to not have to re-create them!

Project Percentage Likelihood

Hi,

 

I've allocated income value of £1m to a line in a project, then I've allocated income value of £2m to another line in a project, (same programme) and allocated a likelihood of 50% likelihood to both projects.

 

Is there a way of getting the income values with % likelihood applied (so would be £0.5m & £1m) in the spreadsheet and this to roll-up to summaries (I can do a formula for the income values % likelihood, but can't get them to roll up)?

 

Milestone

I downloaded free trial of latest ASTA version. ried to type a new programme, However, when I tried to create a milestone with '0' on duration column it wont allow me to do that. Normally on a milestone start date and finish time is same. But in my programme there is one day difference between start and finish time. It wont allow me to change it into same date on both columns. How do I create milestone? It seems some sort of setting but I cant figure it out ant help will be greately appreciated

Lags and type of duration format

Hi All,

Please can you advise on the following-

My programme activities are showing incosistent time units on my lags and slope. The activities are showing a mixture of seconds, minutes, hours and days on my activities.

Is there a way i can select a consistent format for all activities to have their lags calculated in days, weeks?
