Summary Bar Progress

I have a problem with a top-level summary bar containing several nested summary tasks, which contains individual tasks. The over all project is on programme apart from 1 nested summary bar containing tasks that are 2 weeks behind, however the top summary is only showing 3 days slip? I would expect the project to be more than 3 days behind over all.

I believe that the top summary bar is not recording its contents progress accurately? Is there anyway to check this?

Would the nested summary bars distort the result of progress on the top summary?

Elapsed days

Hello Fellow Planners,

I am filtering by critical path but seem to have some gaps!

Have found these are elapsed duration tasks - is there a reason Asta does not show these in a critical path?

Can any one tell me how to turn on so they show in path?

Current view progress only calculated and not hidden

Has anyone tried this
I want to calcilate current view progress and not to include any activity progress not in current view
This will apply to activities using a filter whether they have progress or not but to exclude typically "by others" for example

Asta Powerproject HASP Dongle

Hi. I run a stand-alone version of Powerproject using the HASP parallel port hardware dongle. The drivers I have for Windows XP do not work in the 64-bit environment. I have searched the Asta knowledge base under HASP and I have clicked the link they gave to the Aladdin website but those drivers do not work either. The install reports as being successful but the Asta software does not seem to see the dongle.

Does anyone else run Asta Powerproject with a hardware dongle successfully in a 64 bit windows environment?

Hide Progressed Tasks

Hello Fello Astrall travellers,

Firstly, how come I’m the only one posting questions of late has everyone else worked out everything and I’m the only dumb arse left???

Well regardless, must be slow or something, my question is about the hide if task progressed. Brilliant tool and works a treat, but then can’t seem to switch it off.

Unselected - no luck

Refreshed view (with unselcted of course) - no luck

Closed Asta and re-started - no cigar

Shook monitor and tapped with hammer - still no cigar!

1 day duration tasks

Can anyone explain why 1 day duration tasks sometimes display starting and finishing on the same day then other one day tasks show to start one day finish the next?

Page Breaks

Hello Asta Devotees,

Can anyone explain the mysteries of page break to me - or do they simply come with a mind of their own.

No matter where I put a page break it seems to choose where ever it likes.

Am I missing something or is this the way it is?

Baselines and learning more about how Asta Works

Hello Fellow Planners,

Anyone can explain how baselines work in Asta, in MSP I often saved subsequent versions of files and they always kept the baseline records.

Am getting impression that because Asta saves a baselines in separate files - if you then move around your current file or save latest version of it with new file name, it can lose the reference to the baseline file.

Are there any books or training material that explain the architecture of Asta and how it works.

Two week look ahead

Would like to create a two week look ahead in the time slice that takes today and two weeks ahead - anyone done a macro for this or know how else to do?
