Need a little guidance and also my first post!!

I have a live project currently thats working 6 normal dayshifts.

Due to client instructions, the programme is being delayed and client wants to instruct acceleration. They want 2 options for a 16hr working period - 6 days a week.

The uplifts in labour for the permanent resources isn't an issue. I have set an additional overtime period in the calendar to a seperate cost centre and that reports well.

Linking PP dates in an excel doc

Hi all

Im creating a Master Iinformation Release Schedule in excel.  The dates are subject to change so rather than having to change them every time in the excel document, is there any way of linking the dates in the excel document to the dates in the Powerproject file, so that each time the PP dates are changed the MIRS is updated automatically please?

Calender hours

Hi

   I have cereated a project with default duration of 8 hr a day,i now need to change that default duration to 9.5hrs,I created a new calender with 9.5 hrs and applied it to the activities but it changes the duration.of the activites. I chose to retain the absolute duration,in terms of hrs,minutes,seconds option still it changes the duration.could anyone help me please.

Hi All,

I have to present a review of Asta Powerproject in the near future, so any help you can give would really appreciated. I've only used MSP in the past so I'm relatively new to APP.

What I need to know is the key advantages and disadvantages of using APP compared to MSP 2003. I have focused it down to three key areas.. scheduling, resourcing and budgeting. 

The more advanced features you can suggest the better as the module is called 'advanced planning and tracking' !!!

Any suggestions of what to look into would be great.

Custom Formula Required

Hi all,

anyone know what i would use to get a custom colum displaying week numbers?

i need to display the week numbers from 1st Monday in March up to 52 then start again from 1 the following year.

I cant use the date zero as a reference as it is being used to rescheule the project and is roughly 24 weeks from the 1st March.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Progress Help

Ive had a quick look for similar topics but cant find one and |Im probably missing a very obvious step here (Hope I can explain this ok).  I am progressing a programme as I always do on a weekly basis.  It is a new revision of an older porgramme, revised by someone else (who isnt around at the moment so I cant ask).

These are the steps I take to get my programme ready for progress inputting.

- I have added the progress line to the barchart. 

- Changed the progress entry period (Tools --> Options --> Progress entry period)

- Set the P

I am in the process of marking up progress on my "current programme", I have a "baseline" sitting as a seperate file. I merge the information using an excel proforma my company has.

Gaps in Critical Path

Hello Planners,

Am having difficulty in schedule I've created where I've assigned particular resources that use a 5 day calendar instead of the 6 day applied to the rest of the project.

All good as I know no concrete pours will occour on a Saturday however the critical path now sees a gap between the tasks and doesn't show for these tasks now.

Can work around by entering 1 day gap to show nearly critical but when you filter by critical it only shows those with 0 gap - true critical path.

Anyone had this issue and found a fix?

Trying to change the thickness of critical links so they are more visible - only seem to be able to change color.

Anyone know how to change thickness?
