Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Spam and PP

spam - irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent on the Internet to a large number of recipients.

Recently the amount of spam at PP has increased.  I believe the main reason is because PP is allowing anyone to register.  The amount of spam should decrease if PP Admin enforce some rules as to prevent undesirable actors to keep posting irrelevant or inappropriate messages and to protect PP reputation.

I suggest:

  1. Require everyone to use their legal name and use email address registered under this name.
  2. Do not accept temporary email accounts.
  3. Before accepting the user make every effort to make sure as possible the above requirements are met.
  4. For current users when postings are flagged as offensive verify that the requirements are met and enforce them.
  5. The following links provide some references of interest on available ways to enforce the requirements.

There is a young chap in the UAE who helps plus a planner in Australia. We remove 50+ spam posts each day plus 20 or so obvious new spammer accounts but many use real gmail accounts so are hard to spot. I’ve asked the techies to upgrade the signup captcha checks but am leaning towards rejecting / approving all new accounts to allow people to show where they work and prove they are practitioners and not paid spam companies. Hi Rafael

I am the only moderator operating on this site now.

I could do with some help taking out the spam content.

Best regards

Just think perhaps they're interested in "Family Planning". As you know, "human resources" nowadays are perhaps abundant, but "Skills" are scarce. And maybe others don't have a chance or opportunity to use their skills or talents properly, while others just wanted to share their hidden skills. Yes, "Resource Leveling" is very important.

But what about avoiding porno-spam?

Besides I have noticed what I believe are some people hiding under a pseudonim making derogatory comments about other members, frequently from same pseudonim therefore I percieve no action is taken.

Do not worry.  We are watching the pseudonyms :)

- pseudonyms is not ok for PP, I find its use allows unwanted people gaining access and make irrelevant posts that can be so annoying.

There are many services to prevent their use and there you can read about why many sites find them undesirable.

Rafael, What's the problem with using pseudonyms? And besides, this is an unsecured site. Even secured sites can be spammed. Just ignore them. "REPUTATION" is earned. This is a Free Planet dude, anything is possible.
