Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I created a copy of a (cost loaded) project in P6. I wonder why in Projects the Total Activities & BAC columns for the copy show 0 (zero).

When I open the copy, it’s fine; has all the data & info I need. But...guess what...the original project gets...depleted from this info (showing 0 activites & costs).

Can anybody explain me what is happeening or why?

This is the right approach - we created an EPS-branch "Archive" with special access rights. Change the project status to "What-if".
In addition check the entry under Edit --> User Preferences --> Resource Analysis. It’s self explaining and should be according to your needs.

OK, I think I found a way. I created a new branch in the EPS structure for Project Copies, and will locate all my copies in there.

Now the problem is...hmmm...the system adds up the data(activites & budget) from my original project + copies. Now I understand why the copies were showing a zero before summarizing.

Where should I locate the copies in order not to affect the EPS info?

Thankfully,

Cristina (obviously I am a beginner in P6)

It worked. Thank you guys. Now the data shows on all projects (original + copies).

Tools --> Summarize --> Open Projects (or All Projects if not open)

The only thing I can think of is to open and summarise the copied project then the info should show up in the projects view
