Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Let me add to what Arnold just said…

The start of any unstarted activity with no outstanding predecessor commitments is supposed to move when the data date moves. If it does not then you are talking about MS Project. Unless you have a time machine and are planning to use it to move your work crews back in time, uncompleted work cannot exist in the past. Good luck!

Hi Riad,

Generally, the Start Date of each Activity will keep on moving as the Data Date move especially when this activity is not yet started and the predecessor of it will keep pushing when there is no progress recorded and also due to driving relationship.

To avoid moving the Start Date, all you have to do is to adjust the LAG or change the Relationship Type. But in this case, you have to inform the Client and you should specify and justify all lags and relationship type.

Well

Have you try to put a actual start date to your activity.

that will stop the Early Start date moving as the data date move :-)

you need to make sure you updated your schedule correctly
