Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

while preparing a remaining works program,at the data date, many activities are progressing at the same and these activities will be with out predecessors like project commencement which has elapsed much earlier, which may lead to false schedule calculations, what is the remedy for this situation

Dear Kumar,

If you are going to make a revision you can revise all relations and use Retained-Logic (Schedule Options) in order to show activities started but will continue later more realistic. On the other hand the most annoying part will be many started activities which will be and stacked up to the data date that will give you a resource histogram with mountain peaks after data date for 3-4 weeks (!). You can suspend the works which you will not be working until the planned date you will assign resources on site (From Dates Window in P3). This is a CLIENT-CONTRACTOR issue but try not the change the durations. Be careful when changing relations & Suspends that will change the critical path and check the situation in a detailed way in every progress update.

Dear Kumar,

You can use a dummy activity and call it "start of remaining activities" and then link as usual from this point on.

Best,
