Guild of Project Controls: Compendium | Roles | Assessment | Certifications | Membership

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Planners,

I did the self assessment and then emailed the Guild Team requesting membership last week and I have not had a response yet. Does anyone know the latest on where the Guild has progressed to?

Hello All,

Hi Mike Testro - I am not personally aware of the Forensic Analysis review team but I do know that the document is just now out with the worlds top 10 or 20 claims management compaines for review.  Drop james.williams@planningplanet.com an email if you still wish to add some value as I know he is helping push the collaboration in the right direction.

Regarding EDF - I have checked on this and it appears that EDF were considering supporting the Guild when that powerpoint was created.  I have asked Theo to find out where they are with things regarding support / sponsorship etc.

Regarding Guild Progress - I was party to a conference call last week which described the actions over how to make a better effort with respect to spreading the news over progress etc (someone was also actioned with creating a road map and update of the interim Guild website).  I have asked James (Williams) for an update and will revert.  The following links show some ongoing progress that has been reported during 2013 - hope that helps?

Regards... Jo

Thanks for the update. I work for EDF who are one of the sponsors according to the Phase 2 presentation. However, everyone who I have spoken to about it at EDF doesnt know anything about it. I did actually get a response from a chap called James Williams after posting this question yesterday. He is currently finding out the latest news on it for me.

Hi Mike,

Yes, I remember you offering your services at the time.

I get to be a reviewer because I work for Mott MacDonald, who are a corporate sponsor of the Guild. It may be that they have got sufficient numbers of reviewers through this route, hence didn't need to reach out to the wider planning community like yourself -Just guessing.

Cheers,

G

Hi Gary

That is interesting.

I have been trying to get onto the drafting / review section of the Guild since it started but I have been either ignored or blocked.

I thought my expertise in delay analysis would have been welcomed but I have been excluded.

Best regards

It's not defunct.

They are currently in the process of developing their standards of practise -I've got a draft copy to review sitting on my inbox.

No idea when this will be completed or when we will hear about the launch of accreditation / membership etc. Progress has been slow, but it is definitely still alive.

There's a Guild of Project controls group on linked in that posts the occasional update (last one about a month ago), and I believe the planning planet newsletters sometimes have some relevant info (though they go to an email adress i never check, so not sure)

Cheers,

G

Hi Thomas

The last time I heard anything from the "Guild" was 18 months ago.

I believe it is defunct.

Best regards
