Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi All,

Good day! Our Client asked us to prepare and submit a Recovery Plan.

After we submitted the said Recovery Plan on 16 June 2009, the Client/Engineer review and commented last 02 July 2009.

Now the Client/Engineer, insisting/forcing us to submit the Recovery Plan on or before 28 July 2009 incorporating all their comments.

My question is, how many days required for Recovery Plan from the time we received their comments? As this is not mention in our Contract Document.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Aryan

Hi Hammad

You are best advised to place this request in a new thread - it is not  a good idea to wake up an old thread with a new topic.

I will look for your new thread and then delete this one.

Best regards

Dear Ayan,

This is a good size Schedule for around $10M project. This can be handled within the two weeks period.

Decide what your team’s recovery plan is:

1) Increasing the resources or working double shifts
2) Starting more activities in the near future.
3) Changing the Construction Methods.
4) Subcontracting the Works
5) Allowing Overtime for the same teams.
6) Increasing the Productivity by providing incentives for completed works
7) Increasing the Productivity by bringing experts
8) Changing the management teams while maintain the same cost of management.
9) Identifying the bottle necks in the process and reducing or eliminating it.
10) Identify activities that are causing delays and find the best solutions to reduce the time as much as possible.

What you need to do is identify what is the most likely method that your Contractor will follow and what your Client will approval and then you work hard on modifying your Schedule accordingly.

With kind regards,

Samer

Hi Samer,

Thank you for the input. There are 5000 activities.

Do I need to integrate all their comments including Project Risk Register, and list of all changes made to the logic or planned durations during the development of the recovery plan.

Thank you & Best Regards,

Aryan

Dear Aryan,

It depends on the size of the project that you have.
Usually, as per FIDIC, you are supposed to submit your program of works within 28 days.

Planning and scheduling is an iterative process, so you can always continue providing the client with more details. Complete the high level works and then you can submit the more detailed information.

If you know what your recovery plan is, then preparing the schedule should not be a problem. But if you team is still figuring it out, then you need time.

With kind regards,

Samer

Hi Aryan

As always if it is not stated in the contract then whatever is deemed reasonable applies.

You will need a reasonable time to comply with their request.

If it will take longer to do so then explain why and tell them when it will be ready.

Best regards
