Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi PP Admin

We are getting a lot of new members reviving long dead threads - they seem to search a topic and then pitch in regardless of when the last message was posted.

Spammers seem to be doing this quite a lot.

Can we have a system whereby a thread is locked 6 months after the last post?

It's a tricky one because we want people to use the search function, but when they do they find threads from 6 years ago.

 

Could perhaps the search function be ammended so it sorts the results by date?
