Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

In what order do replies display?

Hello PPs and administrators,

I feel "very" disturbed in the new forum when I browse the replies to a specific topic; why are the replies not sorted in last to first order as before and on most forums?

Thanks for your answer,

Alexandre

On behalf of the team here (well, volunteer planners located in various geographical locations!) we do hope this helps.

Do keep the requests and suggestions coming in.

Thats better.

Most recently updated forum moves to the top. Now you can see what people are commenting on.

Hi there,

We have tweaked this issue.  How does it look for you now buddy? http://www.planningplanet.com/forum

It's not perfect, but it does show us the subject of each of the latest posts.

I have no doubt it will be improved as has been done, but please remember the column at right is obtrusive and get on the way to get a better view of the forum topics, unless we develop some shorthand of our own as kids do we will not be able to read what is on the Last Post.

Hi there,

We have successfully changed the Main Forums page http://www.planningplanet.com/forum  to only include the main forums and have moved the Group Forums to a new page http://www.planningplanet.com/forums/group-forums , the link of which is at the bottom of the main forums pages.  This seems to keep the most activity on the main forums page.

As you rightly point out the Discussions Feed http://www.planningplanet.com/view/discussions page is fairly useful.

Our next challenge to get the forums to order by latest post etc.  We are on the case.

Regards...James

Alexandre,

Agree, because of this I changed my link to the discussions page.

http://www.planningplanet.com/view/discussions

Definitively the results are not the same, still would like the Forums Main Page with forums sorted by last entry as a default but with other sorting options as well, also the display of last posting shall be the full title as before.

To me the new columns to the right are annoying and shall be kept under separate tab, say My Account, as before, other items on the column to the right belong to the Home or News tabs. This is taking too much valuable space.

Regards,

Rafael
