Can anyone advise on how to convert a pp programme into MSP? And just to make it a bit more of a challenge - I have the Asta viewer - not the PP software - can this be done without PP license?

I have received a Power Project programme which I can’t open because I have version 5 and the programme I received is in version 3 or earlier. Any suggestions on how I can remedy this problem? Thanks

Jumping to Predecessor

"Jumping" is a function in another software - I am trying to find a similar feature in Power Project.

In the spreadsheet area of of the screen, you can show, Predecessor but is there a way to show only Unique Id of Predecessor rather than the full description of the predecessor?

How to go (jump) to that predecessor activity straight way?

How many id’s for each activity?

I was amazed to find a number of confusing data (tokens). I was trying to find activity id and found following four:
Task id
Bar id
Id
Unique Task ID

Can someone explain what these are?

In Power project, .pp is the main project file, .bak is the backup, .ppb is the baseline. And there is one more file type .TIX. I want to know what this file is for.

Non-working weekend display

Hi,

I’m currently trying out Powerproject 9 and have come across a bug which seems to sill exist. Now, I’m wondering if it is a bug at all and whether there is something I am doing wrong.

The calendar we use does not include weekends, so we create a simple Calendar using the Calendar Wizard and choose to leave the weekend check boxes blank in the Wizard. We then set that Calendar as the default Calendar for new tasks.

Cost display in Spreadsheet

I am displaying ’total cost’ and ’cost to date’ in the spreadsheet (ie tokens ’cost’ and ’actual cost’) QS has asked to see amount added in this valuation ie between progress periods. All the tokens I can find assume progress was on schedule last progress period. Can anyone help?

Automatically assign codes

I am trying to find out whether there is a way to set up an automated assignment of codes once it is partly or 100% progressed, i.e. once I input the progress of the task, the code will automatically change to (e.g.) "Partly Completed" or "Completed" (which I have set up!). I am using PowerProject V9.

Checking the Calendar against tasks

Hi,

If you have multiple calendars, how can you check which calendar you have previously assigned to a task without adjusting the task length.
