Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I was amazed to find a number of confusing data (tokens). I was trying to find activity id and found following four:
Task id
Bar id
Id
Unique Task ID

Can someone explain what these are?

Thank you for explaining. Graphics based and hence I had a feeling that Power Project would be more user friendly. But....

First of all you need to understand that power project is a graphically based programme.

You have bars Which are single activities on a gant chart line. As you add activities in your programme PP gives each one a line number (bar ID) at the same time PP allocates a unique ID to this bar, the unique ID does not change whereas the bar (or line no) changes if you add or move the bar.

In PP you have the ability to split bars into tasks and the same numbering logic applies to the tasks.

A way of checking this is to add columns to the spreadsheet for each token.
