Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I imported a programme from P3 t P6. In the P3 version of the programme, 1-day work occupied the whole 1 day, but in P6 it only occupied an 8-hour period. I changed the calendar to solve this. But one thing I cannot changed is the data date. It is located 08:00 of the start date instead of at the very beginning of the day. My duration is set in days, not hours. Can someone help me.

Ronn,

P6 is a minutely scheduling program.  You can ask it to display your dates as hours and days or just in days but the underlying database and calculations are always done to the nearest minute.  You cannot ignore the hours; just hide their display.  You can jump through a lot of ‘hoops’ to make it look like P3 but it is best to just learn the way that this software works.

Perhaps it would help to refer to a paper that I co-presented at a past AACE Annual Conference on this subject called, “Understanding P6 Dates” at http://www.ronwinterconsulting.com/published.htm.  Good luck!

Hi Ronn

Maybe you should look at the work patter for the week to fill the whole 24 hours with non work and work time.

Best regards
