Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi
I update on weekly basis and update cost related resources monthly, my question is; it is possible to enter ’actual this period’ values, but it is not possible to record these periodic datas, for exp. a activity updated for 3 months , after completion of activity P3 divides the resource values according to durations. but in reality the resource usage can be independent from duration.

So, that problem makes p3 graphic reports useless sometimes.

Up to now ı can not find a way to do it at P3 that is why we solve our problems an excel.

Thanks

If you using 3.0 sorry can help except export the performance into excel and thats means data manipulation (MANUAL processess) I am not suggested since you will print out contradict report from your excel and P3... and lost the creditiability of the package.

If you using 3.1 then you can use the save period performance to save the value of when the actual and earn vaule occured. The best is to determine the frequency of the update you/your project manager would perfer and update each period and save the performance.

Hope that help

Oh man, it is very simple. Everytime you update, just copy the previous updated file to a new file. Then you can update it for the actual to this period. This method will make your record traceable. The chart u can do it in Excel by extract from your updated monthly/weekly P3 program. Excel chart is always better than P3 chart!
