Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Shahul,

Sorry in my posting no 2 I was talking about Lag Calendar, my mistake.

Similar to Lag Calendar Float Calendar is not fixed; is defined by the activity calendar. This is a cause of major issues when using multiple calendars.

http://www.pmicos.org/fse.asp

Multiple calendars: May lead to difficult and sometimes anomalous results in calculating project status on updates, as well as overall project duration. Result: Can lead to discontinuous float paths and make it hard to identify the critical path.

Under resource constraining/leveling if your software cannot give you resource float and resource critical path, it means close to nothing, even worst it is misleading.

Best regards,
Rafael

Hi Shahul

"Calculation of float in days depends on which calender?"

In most software - including PowerProject - the column display of total or free float is in working days regardless of which calendar is applied to the task.

Shahul,

Remember if you need a lag calendar other than the available through your software you can always insert a dummy activity or milestone at the end or beginning of your lag, depending on your needs and your software. Then the calendar of the dummy activity will be inherited by the predecessor/successor lag.

Best regards,
Rafael

It depends on your software,

1)Some assign the predecessor activity calendar.
2)Other to the successor activity calendar.
3)Other to the successor or predecessor depending on link type SS/SF/FS/FF.
4)Other to your selection within some limited options.
5)The most powerful let you select the calendar of your choice.

Murphy’s Law says that among the first four the software will assign the wrong calendar while under the fifht you will assign the wrong calendar, always at the worst moment.
