Guild of Project Controls: Compendium | Roles | Assessment | Certifications | Membership

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

This website is useless unless your recomendations join

Don’t you think that it would be a god idea for all members to get full access to all of the rates straight away. All the people that i know are already members so that leaves me unable to get to all the rates that i require. Please help me out and take this resistriction of the website

Every project has it’s own estimate and the production rates can be taken from there...

Else for general purpose use MEAN’s Manual..Thanks.

Hi!
I really wonder
How to give recommender’s Planning Planet ID No as reference?

while registering, when being asked to introduce refrences?

Hi Lo or Gary (which should I use please)

You should nevr put any trust in output rates that other planners use.

Hi all and especially moderators,

I would also like to be bypassed concerning the rates access
and especially because for the second time,
my message to
’helpdesk@planningplanet.com’ bounced back at me.

I have never been able to use the recommend page
as a matter of fact I use PP only in order to solve some
issues (and help newbies where I can)

I add said message hereby,

8<<==================================================

Bonjour,
I have been trying now several times over the last few months
To recommend PP to a few of my friends and colleagues,
But to no avail.
In particular, Oxxxxxx.bxxxxxx@eu.rhodia.com
Never received the message I tried to send him
Yesterday (three times, with I Explorer and with Chrome)
Over the dedicated PP feature.
All I get is this error message, in the best of cases:
8<=============================================
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error ’80040e14’
[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-5.0.18-nt]You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ’en profiter cette fois’, ’20371’)’ at line 1
/members/member_recommend.asp, line 42

=================================================>8

Are you aware of similar problems and do you have a cure?
Thanks in advance and
Best regards
Nicolas Igersheim

Hi Guys

As far as I know the website is run by amateurs who do not take any payment for their time and expertise.

I do not know if the agencies pay anything for the job listings - probably not.

If you would prefer this website to be run on a commercial basis how much are you willing to pay for a year’s subscription?

$100? $200?

Please let us know so that the admin can put a realistic value on the thing before it is sold to google and they retire to the Bahamas.

Best regards

Mike Testro

Who cares how it is funded, obviously by companies adverts etc.
One of the main functions of PP in a few years ago was to get the planners jobs, all I see lately is work for the UK and GCC. Other webs are busy taking over in that respect, what is happening ? and don’t hide behind the recession that’s stale news.

Santhosh,

PP Admin are all unpaid volunteers. They don’t get a chance to check the forums every day.

Be patient. You’ll get access eventually.

Hi there,

The Private Message System is now back on. You can read about it on our News Page (link at top of screen).

We will do our best at the weekend to open up the production rates to the people below who have asked for it.

In exchange is anyone able to volunteer some time to help us move the rates from the old system into the PP Knowledge Wiki would they contact us via the Private Message System :)

Thanks.

In fact, if anyone wishes to volunteer any amount of time (big or small) we would love to hear from them. As we are planners too and are struggling to keep up...

Another issue to consider is the private message sending. Everytime I try to use it I would end up with.. ’Members Private Message System temporarily turned off while we send some people to see the idiots who want to miss-use the system. We will be back on soon. Sorry! is there anyway we could use is again?

Appreciate you help...

Thanks..

I agree, it’s a daft system. What if you don’t know anyone else in the planning industry ?

Create some random hotmail addresses and "join" yourself.

Hi PP Admin
Previously I posted a query that I’ve recommended a few of my friends & colleague and they received your email. When registering as new members they do not receive any message to key in my planning planet ID Number. Why is it so?

I’m still stuck with 10 production rates per item.

Please bypass the restriction so that I can have full access to the production rates.

Thanks

Hi guys

Very much appreciate the effort put in to running this website. I would like to offer my services to assist in the running of the website as a volunteer. Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers

Hello Planners,

We have massaged the code for over 1,000 planners who have asked us to bypass this restriction. We have done this for anyone who has asked. If anyone wants full access, simply send us a mail and we will get one of the team to sort it for you.

To solve this problem and with respect to rates, we are changing the whole system such that we (I am a planner too) can all view and manage the rates data on the site. If anyone wishes to help with this initiative we would love to hear from you.

Regards....PP Team (volunteer planners)

Steve,

... I am not a PP administrator, but I couldn’t help but respond to your post... I guess you’re refering to Prod-Rates right?... I agree, I think it will be a good idea if all members get full access; but PP requires successful recommendation of at least 2 members before you can access more than 10 results, which I also don’t think is a bad idea... I have recommended a couple of my friends, but only one joined, so I still cannot view more than 10 results per page... And, it’s depressing!!!
