SENIOR PLANNING ENGINEER, J.RAY MCDERMOTT,LARESEN & TOUBRA(L&T), OIL & GAS OFFSHORE PROJECTS

Onshore Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule the project by developing a project master schedule in line with the proposal requirements through the application of the primavera P6 software to understand the project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks and targets to determine the resource requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project through the project measurement system.
  • Co-ordinate internal project team reviews followed by a review and approval by the client of the work schedule, progress measurement and reporting systems. Review status reports, modify schedules and plans as required and keep the Management and Project Manager apprised of the progress on a regular basis.
  • Finalizing weight factors and preparing Work Breakdown Structure and implementation of the same to the schedule.
  • Discuss with Project Managers any area of concerns that leads to critical activities and recommends corrective actions / recovery plan based on the availability of the resources.
  • Implement the work schedule and monitor progress for timely execution of the project through weekly & monthly reports with respect to review of the overall project. Anticipate and resolve any problems, bottlenecks/scheduling conflicts to keep the project on schedule.
  • Responsible for all the approval of schedules (Level 1-4) and progress measurement reports.
  • Develop look-ahead schedules and provide forecasts to the Management. Monitor schedule deviations and recommend corrective actions/workaround solution in order to mitigate potential delays. Develop recovery plans as required to address schedule shortfall.
  • Co-ordinate and review inputs from the various functional departments and sub contractors contributing to the execution of the project.
  • Develop four week look-ahead schedules and provide forecasts to Engineering, Procurement & Construction team members. Highlight in the four week look-ahead meeting if any delay due to drawings or material.
  • Prepare budget histograms, S-Curves, Man-hour distribution & Weightages distribution, resources logs (Manpower, Materials and Equipment) as reference baselines for the control during the various project execution phases.
  • Participate in critical procurement and subcontract evaluations. Schedule requirements are adequately addressed to the subcontractors.
  • Assist the Project Manager in making "make or buy" and "subcontract or do it yourself" decisions.
  • Maintain and adhere to company safety and ethics standards.
  • Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe manner and in compliance with HSE Policies, Statutory requirements and HSE Plans established for the project.

   Offshore Responsibilities:

  • Develop Installation, Hook-up & Pre-commissioning schedule for Jackets & Topsides.
  • Monitoring & Reporting day to day activities through Daily Progress Reports from Installation Barge DB-27 to McDermott and Client and advice on critical activities and backlog analysis.
  • Monitoring critical path activities for Installation and Hook-up & Pre-commissioning of Jackets, Piles, Boat landing & Topsides.
  • Participate to the critical offshore tasks to ensure their performance according to methodology & ensure the relevant feed back.
