I was working for BHP Billiton Energy Coal South Africa on the MWR projects. I was part of BHP Billiton Project Delivery Team. This project is multi phased, consisting of feasibility study, basic design, detail design, procurement, fabrication, execution and commissioning. The execution is also multi disciplined, which include the following - earthworks, civils, buildings, structural steel, piping, mechanicals, electrical and instrumentation erection, as well as commissioning and ramp-up, in the coal mining industry.

Shutdown Planner, BHP Billiton, Nickel West KNSC 2010 August Major Outage

Three month contract at Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter for a 12-day major plant shutdown in late August. One of two Planners responsible for developing, monitoring and progressing shutdown schedule consisting of over 6,000 activities.

 

Schedule involved works across all areas of the plant, as well as requirements for running down the plant leading up to the shutdown and running up the plant at the completion of the shutdown – critical to enable production to recommence on time.
