Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Greetings to All.

(it might be a stupid question)

In P6 project layout we use start, finish and total float columns. we have original duration too. My question is on what basis total float is calculated. because total float = late start- Early start or late start - early start

and we dont enter any kind of early or late start or finsh shedule, but still total float is provided. how is it possible.

(Thanks in Advance)

You enter project start, activity durations and logic, after schedule run early and late dates are calculated during forward and backward calculations then float values are calculated and all can be shown on the same table.

Hi MD

Latest start is where all the float is used up.
