(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?
(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I'm trying to renumber all of the activity ID's in a plan I've copied from a previous project. I want the numbers to run sequentially through the various WBS in this new version but they appear to be renumbering to the same sequence as the original ie the order the activities were created. is there a way to override this ?

In P6 7 is renumbering easy. Go to Edit and select tab "renumber activities". You have various options but you can create any number you desire.

Dear Bob,
I don't know if it's right or not ,I suggest you setting the sequence of all activities in only "sort" dialog box and meanwhile deleting all the "group by"settings . You can renumber activities IDs in the new layout after sorting activities by "WBS"and "start".
