Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello Planners,

Using P6R7, I would like to hide the cost fields when exporting a project to XER file, or make sure that the other users who open my project in a multi-user config will not be able to read the Price/Unit, Budgeted Cost, ...

Thanks for your help,

Alexandre

In Spider Project any field in any project can be password protected and I expect that in P6 also.

But Spider Project has additional option to save the project without costs at all to be sure that nobody will be able to break protection. Besides, the protection may be discovered and invite questions. When something is absent the questions are avoided.

Hi Vladimir.

Well and good if he has a Spider Software. Actually it is not that complicated in P6, you just delete the cost accounts.

Good to hear from you mate!

Cheers,

Daniel

You can export to xer, import to Spider Project, use the function Save without costs, and then again export to xer.

Looks easier than deleting all costs in the project copy.

Alexander,

You can make a copy of the programme and delete all cost and then export.

Regards,

Daniel
