Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

issue with the baseline

Hi all;
Can anybody tell me why, I updated a programme, and I didn’t created and assigned any base line. the assign baseline window has current project as the base line. but my start and finish for the current project activities are not matching with the baseline start and finish for the activities which are completed or in progress.

Also, after assigning baseline, check dates in START and FINISH columns rather than early dates.

Hi Prem,

P6 is correct in this situation. To differntiate between these dates, ADD these columns "Early Start", "Early Finish", "Start", "Finish", "Planned Start" and "Planned Finish".

Early Date columns will give you the dates, based on the completed activities or in progress activities.

Start & Finish Columns and Planned Dates will match, as you have not assigned any baseline.

Now, when you will update the program and will assign the baseline, please make sure that baseline uses "Budgeted Values with Current Dates".

This option you can find in Admin Preferences --> Earned Value Tab --> Earned Value Calculation
