Website Upgrade Incoming - we're working on a new look (and speed!) standby while we deliver the project

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Good day friends ,
I have recenetly joined as an planner for "ENGINEER".

I was a planner for contractors for 10 yrs now. And know the tricks we play with programms.

But now its time to catch those tricks your contractor plays with you.

I use my Contractors programme to review. which is my job.
And i do following analysis?
Variance analysis w.r.t to last month report.
Variance analysis w.r.t to Baseline.
Claim Digger.

I could do few more like.
Float analysis.[ But why should i ?]

and would like to know what other analysis can be done in the reviewing process? From you experienced planners / client programmers.

If some one has a white paper describing what is expected from a planner in the reviewing process, plz send me a copy.

Shiv,

You should definitely do a float (trend) analysis. How quickly the float is being used up is a good indicator of how much risk their is to project or sectional completions. It is doubtful a contractor will volunteer this information.

Other things to look at:

-Critical Path analyis

-Lookahead schedule for upcoming client approvals & other non-contractor activities

-Productivity rates achieved vs. assumed for remaining works

-Exposure to potential EOT claims

-Does reported progress match reality on site, match payment claim?

Cheers,

G
