Senior Planner, Railway Procurement Agency, Civils, systems and infrasturcture contracts on several light rail and metro projects

START Date:
March, 2006

Acting as a part of Project Services Group and a a member of the Planning Department, I am working for light rail and metro projects within Dublin region. The projects I am involved are at different stages of their project life cycle. While I do evaluating bidding documents for some, I am running railway order planning processes for another. For those projects at their construction phase, my responsibilities include tracking performance of subcontractors and take on-site progress measurements to benchmark against the reported progress, as well as reporting their earned value performance. I attend weekly and monthly progress meetings and make sure contractual obligations are satisfied and milestones are strictly adhered to by the contractors.  There are some projects called Minor Projects (total budget of around €2.000.000) which help maintain the two up-and-running tram lines. Creating, communicating and updating programmes for those is also my responsibility. I am also participating in project management groups which aim to enhance the company project management processeses. This task requires good coordination skills and follow up of information produced by project/contract  managers. The challenge with this position is in managing information and communication through a diversity of projects and teams. I am collaborating with over 50 project management professionals, each from a different professional, cultural and social background.
