So I’m trying to import data into P6 via excel, but it’s not taking in the Original Duration correctly. It’s putting the budgeted units in place, so I end up with 1 unit/time. (ie... 64hrs & 64 budgeted labor units).

I’ve used this template plenty of times on other systems and it works. This is a fresh install, so are there some settings or something I should be concerned about. I compared my preferences side by side to the other systems and made sure they were the same.

Also, to troubleshoot, I deleted all of the BLU’s in the excel file and left the OD in there. It then put the OD’s in place of the BLU’s. So who knows? I’m assuming I’m missing some setting somewhere.

Any clues?

Hi Tim,

You need to cite an example in order to easily understand what you need.

Anyway, the default of duration type is "Fixed Duration & Units’ whenever you create a new a project. This is only applicable when you create or add new activities.

OK, so no one replied and I figured it out on my own.

Just in case anyone cares, You have to go to the Defaults tab for the given project you are importing to and change the Duration Type to ’Fixed Duration & Units.’
