Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear planner,

i am about installing P5 on my laptop, i tried to install it as standalone, but it keeps asking me for Data base configuration, after accepting the default configuration while installing it, when i first launched it it asked me about a password for the database, i changed and i input it, and then i got a message that it cannot be connected to the database.

has anyone faced this problem, can sombody help please
i am very frustrated

I would like share my exprince i face same problem...

insttaled P5 standalone only on window NT it will be work fine.


i am using same one on window NT you can try for same.

actually i have 2 Operating system in my laptop Win XP as well as Wind NT.

you may use the same option.

hope it will be work for you.

P5 doesn’t operate under Vista. You should upgrade to P6.

1. Did you check if you have local admin rights on your pc? The check for correct password might be due to database not existing.
2. Was there any error message during the installation of the MSDE Express? E.g. if Framework.net was not installed before SQL-Server, the SQL installation runs through some error messages, instaqllation will be incomplete, but doesn’t stop. Result: This error message. How to solve? Uninstall P5 --> Install Framework (form MS or the P5 Installation CD) --> Install P5.
