Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I give up. How can I do the same thing in P6 like we did in P3 for comparing Target Bars? I have tried different ways but can never get the Secondary Bar to move seperatly from the Primary Bar in P6.

Any guideness would be appreciated.

James,
if your problem is NOT seeing the secondary baseline bar on the gantt chart.
right click on gantt chart, bars..
click on "second baseline", change the timescale to "secondary baseline" (it is not the default option)
make sure each of the three bars (current, first and second baseline) do not coincide, that is having different rows.

James,

In P6 you have Project assign and maintain baselines.

Assign baseline: you assign the baseline that you would like to show.
Maintain baseline: you CREATE the baselines.

Before working with the bars that you want to display, you must assign the baseline.

ONCE that you have selected the baseline bar, paying attention to the content of columns name and timescale you will get the filter.
It is a predefined filter.

HTH

Oliver:

I did that and still have the same problem. Does the filter used make a difference? Is there something that I am doing wrong when I update the baselines?

James,

Check Project, Assign baselines and ensure you have the correct baseline assigned as the secondary one.

Also, right click on the gantt, select bars and check that second baseline is ticked and the timescale is secondary baseline.
