Dear all

In P5 If I have an activity ID 44 will start Sep. 10, 2008 and will finish Sep. 12, 2008; this activity has a successor with relationship FS (finish to start) with
Activity ID 55 when I make a schedule command; Activity 55 will start on Sep. 12, 2008 I wonder why it is not start as expected on Sep. 13, 2008.

Can you help me to solve this problem?

Hi Abeer,

I’m sorry.. I forgot to mention that I am using P6. Well, the only way you is to put 1 day Lag for all the activities that the relationship equal to FS and the Finish date of the Predecessor is equal to the start date of it’s Successor.

You can do this by exporting to excel using Export Type "Activity Relationships" and filter by “Relationship Type equals FS” & “Lag equals 0”. You can easily modify in Excel sheet showing the Star Date and Finish Date of each activities.

Or you can send your programme to me at p3-fer@sixco.ae and I will guide you how to do it.

Regards,

Arnold

Hi Abeer,

Go to Edit --> User Preferences --> Date Tab --> Time --> Show Minutes & Select 12 or 24 hour then close. Now, try to check the Finish Date of your Predecessor and modify. Try to observe if you will change the time.

Because P6 Calendars is in hours (half-hour). This is the reason why this sort of situation always happen especially if your predecessor is a Start Milestone.

HTH.

Hello Abeer,

Try the following steps:

1. Go to Enterprise --> Calendars, select Add and select the 7-day Workweek as your inherent calendar.
2. Rename calendar & select Modify
3. In calendar box, Work hours/day must be 8 hours.
4. In calendar box, select Workweek & if you are in Middle East put 0 in Fri then OK. It depends in your Holidays and Non-working days.
5. Set your new calendar as Default.
6. & assigned this calendar to your activities.

Just try the steps above if it is working with you.

HTH.
