Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear Experts,

Good day! I know this question is supposed to be a no brainer, however, when I try to filter using the "WBS NAME; contain = Electrical" to show all the activities under Electrical from multiple buildings unfortunately most of them doesn't show up. I tried to copy the WBS name of the one showing up and apply to the rest but still not working.

Does anyone encounter already this issue on P6 v8.1?

Your assistance is highly appreciated.

regards,

Chris

What I understand from Chris requirement is that He want to filter out only Electrical Items from different Facilities in the same Schedule.

01 Main Building:
   01.01 Electrical Works
       01.01.01 Power Sys

02 Generator Building:
   02.01 Electrical Works
        01.01.01 Power Sys

03 Guard House:
  03.01 Electrical Works
      01.01.01 Power Sys

and so on.

In doing so... Filter

1. WBS under = 01.01
    WBS under = 02.01
    WBS under = 03.01

2. Create Activty code "Electrical"
    Activity Code = Electrical

Chris,

Try Dieter's suggestion. I believe it is the correct solution for you.

Cheers,

Hi Chris

The filter under shows you all activities under WBS e.g. "Electrical". That's the way I understood your question

Mike, Yes I was trying to apply for the whole project that consist of several buildings with the same WBS structure.

Dieter, I guess using the "under" will be too much of a parameter since I am trying to filter for multiple buildings.

Raymund, I think I dont have much time to create and code each activities, and at this tender stage.

I really dont know whats wrong, even I try to re-type one WBS name to refresh. For now, I am just using a combination of activity names and activity ID's to filter since I create them as typical.

BAFINxxx = Finishing Activites for Building A

BBFINxxx = Finishing Activites for Building B

BAELExxx = Electrical Activities for Building A

BBELExxx = Electrical Activities for Building B

Chris,

I suggest to create Activiy Code to make the filtering easier.

Hi Chris

use "WBS" then "is under". Then you can select "electrical".

Pay attention for other active filters.

Good luck!

Hi Chris

Are you applying the filter to the whole project?
