Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi Guys,

I added a resource "Tile Fixer" to an activity using following steps.

1 .In Resource window added Resource "tile Fixer.Assigned it calender (8hrz/Day),entered Price/Unit.

2 .In activity window click on Resource "Tab",selected the Resource "Tile Fixer" and Entered "16h/Day" in "Remaining Units" Column (Because 2 Tile Fixers were required to work each day for 8 Hrz).

After That when I see the "Resource Usage Profile" window it is showing "Overallocation" of 8 Hrz each day. Please tell me that is it correct to enter 16h/Day or i should enter 8Hrz/ Day two times???

Best Regards,

In the resource window the default, perhaps, that you have is, for the 'max unit/day' is 8/d. Make it 16/d then, it will even out.

Hi Faiz

I can't answer for P6 but in Asta Powerproject you enter the number of hours that the tiling task will require to complete and then the number of tilers that are available.

The resource modelling software then calculates the duration - I assume that P6 has a similar system.

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the reply. But Consider an activity where 20 Labors and 10Non Labor units are required.Even these number can further increase. Then Assigning them Separately will be such a waste of time.Is there any short way to assign multiple resources at a time?? What ractice should be followed??

Best Regards

Hi Faiz

You should enter two tilers for 8 hrs a day.
