Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi Dears After having created and updated a CPM schedule using Primavera P6 you notice that some 1 day activities are spanning 2 days. How could this be possible? Although you are scheduling your schedule in days Primavera behind the scenes actually utilizes the hour and minute functions of a day within the program to perform the forward and backward passes. If you look a 1 day activity you may find that a 1 day duration activity actually spanning 2 days. It shows planning to start on 1 day but is forecasted to finish on the next when it should start AND finish all on the same day. SAADI.K

it has to do with times tunr on your times go to edit uses preference and turn on the times.

also in there set the duration dispaly to 2 decimals as you may have soem activites that are not whole days.

any start milestones the TIME should be set to 8:00 am or the start of the day for the calendar that it is on.

any finish milestones the TIMES should be set to 5:00 PM or the latest time for at the end of the day for the calendar that this milestone is on.

also any start constraints the TIME should be set to 8:00 am or the start of the day for the calendar that this activity is on

also any finish constraints the TIMES should be set to 5:00 PM or the latest time for at the end of the day for the calendar that this activity is on.

also ALL actual start TIMES should be  set to 8:00 am or the start of the day for the calendar that this activity is on

also ALL actual fininsh TIMES should be set to 5:00 PM or the latest time for at the end of the day for the calendar that this activity is on.

The problem is almost always in the calendars - different number of hours in a day, different start times in a day, or simply a predecessor finishing half way through a day.
