Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear P6 experts,

Acttualy, our consultant dont get the same schedule % complete on his programme,

We took an example for one WBS level, activities have the same activity % complete, same expenses, but we don't get the same schedule % complete on the WBS Level?? My % complete is the same aas the manual calculation.

So the question is, Why his schedule % diffrent ? where is the problem?

Thank you all in advance.

Ahmed

Ahmed:

I reviewed how %Schedule and %Performance is calculated.

%Schedule at WBS level is related to your Baseline.

Manochehr wrote "Schedule %Complete at WBS level is calculated = PV/BAC "

PV is Planned Value Cost, related to your Baseline. If you don't have any Baseline assigned, it will take your current project dates as the Baseline. Maybe your subcontractor and you have <> Baselines.

%Performance is related  EV/BAC  (EV of your current project)

Review all these fields in both schedules

Ross

Dears Ross/Manochehr,

As I know WBS WBS Schedule or Performance %=sum of activities %*Acti $/WBS $ Right?

As I said besfore, we have the same activity % complete, activities expenses, How can be the Summary % different?

Are there any preferences on P6 to change the Schedule/Performance % complete on the summary?

Rgedards,

Sorry, I didn't answer you yesterday!

Check the following fields in your schedule and your subcontractor's:

  • Original Duration
  • Remaining Duration

Remember that Duration % Complete = (Original Duration – Remaining Duration) / (Original Duration)

Let me know,

Ross

Ahmed,

Schedule percent complete formula is different for Activities and WBS :

P6 use below formula for activity level:

Schedule % Complete = ( [Data Date] – [BaslineStart] ) / ( [Baseline Finish] – [Baseline Start] )

and below one for WBS level:

Schedule % Complete = PV / BAC  if you have assigned any curves for the resources or there be changes in the calendars it will affect the figures in WBS level.  Manochehr

3.User Preferences: Could you please explain in more details this item?

Thank you in advance.

2) If your consultant and you have the same calendar

3) User Preferences
